Contracantus I – for flute and / or recorder and live electronics (2007-8)
- score
Contracantus I for flute and / or alto recorder and live electronics is the first in a series of pieces for small ensembles that can be performed in any combination of the specified instruments. The live-electronics processing is the same for any version of the piece. However, the more players in a performance the more that happens in the electronics. In addition, the barque concept of independent voices contributing to a greater whole is extended by creating voices that are truly independent of each other. But coordination between players is even more complex when the Contracantus is played as an ensemble piece.
